What is Software as a Service (SaaS)?


"Software as a Service" (SaaS) is the name given today to software provided across the internet via secure portals to customers (MSP's) in return for regular monthly or quarterly subscription fees. It is a cost effective alternative to paying for expensive shrink wrapped software applications and tools that need to be updated and upgraded almost annually. Software as a Service (SaaS) is the second generation "ASP" or "On Demand" models that you may have seen, heard of or worked with in the past.
